100% Reduction in Fertilizer Use & 33% Yield Increase of Black Lentils in India
Date: August 2020 (monsoon)
Place: Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, India
Details: Black lentils were planted on two test plots of 1.2 acres each with similar soil conditions. The Kyminasi Plant Booster (KPB)-treated field was irrigated once a week for three of the nine-week growing season and was not fertilized. The farm was only irrigated three times with the KPB system. This was the first KPB technology test on lentils in India
Results
The farmer managed to produce a yield of 120 kilograms (kg) of black lentils with KPB, while the control field was only able to produce 90 kg. With the Kyminasi Plant Booster (KPB) technology, the farmer did not have to apply any fertilizers to ensure production as compared to the control field that required the application of urea. The KPB field had a 33% greater yield and produced 30 kilograms more lentils compared to the control field. With KPB technology, the black lentils were ready to harvest two weeks before the control field. The lentils from the KPB field had a greater black pigment and color. The KPB field overall took less time to grow.
